The Band
Put 6 musicians with different music backgrounds - from folk to classical - but with a deep-rooted love for bluegrass together, and you get a powerful combo that transports you to 1950s Kentucky with rich acoustic sounds and flowing voices.
Eva Put // Double bass and vocals
Eva Put is the youngest member and joined the band in 2019. She followed various music and theater courses and developed into a true musical jack-of-all-trades who cannot be pigeonholed into one music genre.

In addition to the Suncourt Ramblers, she plays with TOUR (in the Zutendaal dialect) and Eve & the rattlin' bones (folk, blues), she is a maker and performer with 'BektÚ', and with her solo project Evawicht she became the third laureate of the Nekka Competition (2021). Her double bass playing and clear voice are a true asset to the band.
Eric Vanderfeesten // Guitar and vocals
Drums and cymbals were Eric Vanderfeesten's childhood love. After 12 years at the percussion academy and stints with various cover bands and the Fin Finch formation, he temporarily exchanged the drums for the electric bass guitar.

With the four-string rhythm guitar, Eric stood on the stage of Humo's Rock Rally with Rozy Palm and embarked on a garage rock adventure with the Drunk Stoned Rangers.

Inspired by roots music and inspired by the 'handmade' guitars of Jos Maesen, Eric's love for the acoustic guitar grew, the instrument he plays with passion and gift with the Suncourt Ramblers.
David Bammens // Mandolin and vocals
David Bammens was 12 when he took his first mandolin lesson from Georges Defraine in the Volkstehuis in Hasselt, the current Youth Music Studio. Defraine and his students formed a classical mandolin orchestra. Among them one rebel...

Through his love for the bluegrass mandolin and its enchanting sounds, David discovered popular bluegrass music. Cripple Creek was the name of the first song he strummed from his new bluegrass mandolin, and his first project, The Cripple Creek Band, was soon born.

Years later, David joined Sweet OK, a group around banjo player Johan Gabriels. In 2010, this charming troubadour co-founded the Suncourt Ramblers.
Jos Vandael // Accordion and vocals
As a child, Jos Vandael entertained family parties with his accordion. Later the seventies teenager - under the spell of Dylan and the Stones - exchanged his accordion for the guitar and devoted himself to cabaret and rock.

Jos retrieved his accordion from the dust for the folk band De Spelemannen and since then he has performed on dozens of stages together with his keyboard bellows.

A few years ago, Jos gave his accordion marriage a new challenge and joined the Suncourt Ramblers with flying colors.
Peter Lesage // Violin and Voice
As a young boy, Peter Lesage took violin lessons at the music academy and later also took singing lessons there for a few years. Initially he found his musical preference in a classical ensemble, but gradually his desire for traditional Irish folk music grew. He then played the violin for several years in an Irish folk band that performed traditional 'session tunes'.

Peter's love for bluegrass gradually grew and in 2011 he helped found the Suncourt Ramblers. This true fiddler is also a member of the solidarity choir Kantikune and the Irish folk band Rustling Cane.
Jos Maesen // Dobro, guitar and vocals
From Jos' early childhood he was bitten by the music bug. He started learning guitar on his own from the age of six. Enthralled by the Beatles, he founded his own local band at the age of 16 and the ball was rolling. Many years later and after discovering various music styles, Jos focused on building his own guitars.

With his first guitar he won first prize at the Dutch guitar builders meeting in 2006. Jos discovered bluegrass and was so impressed by the dobro sound that he decided to build one himself.

He is one of the founders of the band, and plays his self-built instrument.
